Lady Gaga Says‘Born This Way’Is The Album Of The Decade | Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

lady-gagaWhile at a concert stop in Poland, an overwhelmed, tearful Lady Gaga told the crowd,“Not for nothing, the album’s finished and it’s f***ing really good… I promise to give you the greatest album of this decade, just for you.” And it’s only coming out in 2011! Apparently no greater album has been released this year norwillbe released in the following eight years. We shall see— Elton John’s already calling the title track“the new gay anthem of our times,” so it goes without saying that this LP is already hyped to the extreme. Footage of Gaga’s lofty claim below.

She continues discussing the album, telling her audience,“This album is so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit. Or a f***ing meat dress.Born This Wayis about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid.”

According toLady-Gaga.net,Born This Way’s first single will drop February 2011, and Gaga— whopreviously said her album was“crazy” and“amazing”— now describes it as “bad kids going to church, having fun on a high level.”

Christina Aguilera’s‘Burlesque’Ballad“Bound To You”Is Beautiful | Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

burlesque-stills-2-500x360Although we here at Idolator like to joke about how laughable much of the movie musicalBurlesquelooks (from theposterto thescenesthemselves), we know something brilliant when we hear it— the film’s ballad,“Bound To You”, co-written by Sia Furler, Samuel Dixon and the film’s ingenue-turned-flashdancer, Christina Aguilera, is a gorgeous, controlled tune, and could be the frontrunner to nab next year’s Best Original Song Oscar. Listen to it below.

The instrumentation reminds us of Aguilera’s“You Lost Me” and“Lift Me Up”, both onBionic. We’d say this song should have joined them onBionic, but there were already enough ballads on the overstuffed LP. (Although we can’t say we would have minded if Christina scrapped the desperate sex-minded tracks and released an album entirely made up of sweeping ballads, which is pretty much the one type of song she can nail every single time.)

Powerful, emotional and gripping,“Bound To You” is Christina at her best. We almost don’t know what a song this gutwrenchingly beautiful is doing in a movie that appears to relish in its eye-winking cheesiness.

Thoughts on Xtina’s latestBurlesquenumber? Will you be picking up thesoundtrack?
