Michael Jackson feat. 50 Cent - Monster
“Everywhere you turn a monster / When you look up into the air there’s a monster / Paparazzi got you scared like a monster,” sings Michael on yet another song called“Monster” to drop in the last year. (Others include Kanye’s and Lady Gaga’s tracks, though we wouldn’t be surprised if there were more out there.)
The tune was produced by Teddy Riley, Angelikson and Michael Jackson, and features Fiddy, rapping at full Eminem speed for her fairly middling verse.
We really like hearing MJ growl when he’s singing about a subject that angers him, but even catchier than“Monster” is the snappy love song“(I Like) The Way You Love Me”, which kicks off with Jackson demonstrating the melody and beat of the tune over the phone:

All in all,Michaelisn’t completely the money-grubbing cash-in we were expecting, since there are a few noteworthy tracks to be found on it. Now just replace“Breaking News” with“Blue Gangsta” on the LP and we’ll be happy.

Credit Chris Brown for this much— he knows how to keep us guessing. True,the first leakfrom his newIn My Zone 2mixtape leaned on the sort of unimaginative sex imagery he indulges in all too regularly. But— bear with us now — on new track“Seen Her Naked”, he surprises us by finding a way to make his sexcapadesplayful. Yes, this one relies on repeating the lyric“I done seen her jelly”, but at least you can dance to it. You’ll see below.

Brown twists away with a track built on retro funk keyboards and handclaps, and— if you set aside some of the more juvenile lines — it’s kind of fun to hear him reach for“Hey Ya!”-style pop grandeur.

Sam Adams shocked everyone earlier this year when, out of nowhere, his mostly self-produced EP landed at the top of iTunes’ hip-hop digital albums chart. The rapper’sBoston’s Boyoutsold albums by Lil Wayne and DJ Khaledfor the week— powered by strong word-of-mouth and his own Annie Lennox-sampling jam,“Driving Me Crazy”. In fact, his success was so sudden that critics tried to suggest he manufactured it. But Sam (aka Wiz) has kept the party rolling, and the rapper sometimes described asKe$ha’s male counterpart recently dropped a new mixtape,Party Records.

“Much Too Soon” is the third new(-ish) track from Michael Jackson, and the first to be identified as a product of his remarkably creativeThrillerperiod. (Not that we expect that to changethe song lineup forGlee). Jackson“always liked” the bittersweet“Much Too Soon”, according to a post onhis official website,“and would pull it back out of the vaults for each subsequent album project but never found the right home for it”. Was Jackson right not to release this one during his lifetime? Listen below.
We can understand why this one didn’t make the cut forThriller— but it is fascinating to know that, at the time he was recording the majestic dance-pop of his best-known album, he still had an interest in wistful ballads.
Jackson certainly recorded more provocative tear-jerkers than this. But it is high time for the Jackson camp to release forgotten songs like“Much Too Soon”. We just wish it had happened under different circumstances.

Michael Jackson - Blue Gangsta
“What you’ve done to me, baby, I can no longer smile / And I waited to long just to carry on / I’m the blue gangsta,” sings Jackson, ripping through the verse with his beloved, powerful growl on this slinky R&B track.
Michael Jackson - All I Need“Come together all the people, we can do it now / Use your chance to make it right, go take a chance,” Michael sings on the uplifting ballad, backed by the whispering vocals of a childrens choir on the chorus.
Of course, we live in an age today where voices can be manipulated, so until these songs are confirmed from Jackson’s estate, take it all with a grain of salt. That said,we’rebuying that these are from the King of Pop, though we’re unclear from what studio sessions either song was recorded during.
