Mike Posner Takes On Coldplay’s“The Scientist”| Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

mike-posnerOne would not naturally put Coldplay and dubstep in the same sentence let alone the same song, but Mike Posner brings both of those things together in his cover of the British band’s melancholy song“The Scientist”. You listened to himspin around Adele’s“Rolling In The Deep”, now listen to the“Cooler Than Me”dude turn Chris Martin’s sad song into a brilliant piece of electronica by hopping below.

Somehow Posner, who also produced the track, comes across as even more somber than Martin does in the original. You can see him working on his unique spin of Coldplay’s single in the below video. (Jump to 6:50.)

Don’t Eff With Drake And His New Song“Dreams Money Can Buy”| Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

DrakeBET Awards nominee(Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration) Drake has unleashed the first offering from his forthcoming sophomore LPTake Carein the form of the expletive-riddled joint“Dreams Money Can Buy.” Listen at your own risk, as it’sNSFW, after the jump!

Drizzy dropped his new jam via the siteThe Journey Through Law School.“A song that I felt the need to share. Not my single. Just a piece of my story. Hear me out though,” theCanadian rapperwrote.

“I got car money, fresh start money, I want Saudi money, I want art money,” Drake declares in the opening of the track. Later he announces that he’s“too busy,” ponders how he can get the border to issue him clearance to get into Paris given that his“latest girl” has some charges and points out that his favorite rappers are all dead.

There’s not too much as far as a hook to this bare track, so at least Drake made the right decision to not issue“Dreams Money Can Buy” as a single. Really, it’s passable album filler at best.

Areyoufeeling this first taste off Drake’s new album?

The-Dream Finds The“Motivation”To Remix Kelly Rowland And Lil Wayne | Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

DREAM1Kelly Rowland sings,“Baby, I’mma be your motivation” on her recentLil Wayne-assisted single, and the girl isn’t lying: Da Brat and Jeremih have already taken stabs at the not-as-inspirational-as-you’d-think-from-the-title track, and now The-Dream has been motivated to take a turn on the tune as well. Keeping Weezy’s rhymes and some of the“What A Feeling”diva’s vocals, the manresponsible for convincingKim Kardashian to curse our ears with her“Jam”adds his own voice to the mix with such naughty lines as:“Go harder, let me hit that body like it’s never been hit before.” If that so motivates you, head below to hear the full remix.

Unfortunately, The-Dream’s version doesn’t add anything we weren’t already getting from the original: a sexy bedroom-ready beat and plenty of come-hither coos in the vocals. We wonder what motivated The-Dream to add himself onto this track— the song’s recentascent on the Hot 100,perhaps?

Consider us motivated to go back and listen to the original again instead.

Beyonce Will Love You“Till The End Of Time”In New Single | Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

beyonce-4-lg-ftBeyonce’s next4single,“Till The End Of Time”, has surfaced online— just in time for thepending apocalypse, too! Will this midtempo dance tune have the success that“Run The World (Girls)”never really did? Listen to the track below, and try to ignore the repetitive tags reminding us that this is for“internal use only”. Oops.

“Come and take my hand, I won’t let you go / I will be your friend, I will love you so,” sings Bey.“I will be the one who kisses you at night / I will love you till the end of time.” Which may or may not be Saturday. And may or may not be the same moment referred to in her similarly titled duet with Justin Timberlake, theFutureSex/LoveSoundsslow jam“Until The End Of Time”.

With marching band percussion, swelling,B-Day-style horns and lovesick lyrics, we already see this tune winning with Beyonce stans and casual fans alike. However, we’re seriously itching for a higher BPM track from thebody-mover— though we suppose we already got that with RTW(G). Boo. Third single soon, please! We want to groove on the dance floor to a brand new Bey song without feeling embarrassed.

Tags aside, what do you think of“Till The End Of Time”? Is this a return to form for the pop star?

glee-nyNow that New Directions is off to theBig Apple for Nationals, they have to up their game— and in their take of Madonna’sConfessions On A Dancefloortrack“I Love New York”, they do just that. Thankfully, instead of just another by-the-numbers cover of the Queen of Pop (something they did in spades in their“Power Of Madonna”episode), theGleekids perform their own unique, synth-heavy arrangement, which also includes a few lines fromOn The Town’s“New York, New York”, because mash-ups make everything more exciting. Head below to give it a listen.

We raise our Manhattans to toast this better than average rendition of Madge’s song. How about you?

Christina Aguilera And Cee Lo Green Get“Nasty”In Their New Collaboration | Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

143581_christina-aguilera-and-cee-lo-raise-their-voiceWhen Cee Lo Green mentioned to Jimmy Fallon that he and hisThe Voicecolleague Christina Aguilerarecorded a song together, we knew the Internet would come to the rescue way before either Xtina or NBC could have a chance to release it. And it did! (Thanks, Internet, we owe you a coke.) The surfaced version of the diva and the R&B star’s collab,“Nasty”, may be super low quality, but that won’t stop you (or us) from grooving to it for the next hour or so. Listen below.

Christina Aguilera feat. Cee Lo Green - Nasty

Christina takes the lead, and while we can’t make out many of her lyrics in this LQ recording, we can practically hear Cee Lo grinning ear to ear while chiming in with,“Hey baby, wanna see ya get nasty, wanna see ya show your ass, babe!”

It’s bouncy fun, super catchy (especially Xtina’s“hey!” that keeps popping up), and for a song called“Nasty”, includes nocrude-for-the-sake-of-crudeness TMI bon mots found onBionic.

Sure, this tune was a leftover track intended for theBurlesquesoundtrack, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve to be heard. Xtina should save this one for her next album, hopefully out sooner than later.

Blake Shelton and Adam Levine must be feeling left out right about now. Maybe Blake can guest on a Maroon 5 track and make it even stevens?

Listen To Previously Unreleased Ke$ha Demo“31 Seconds Alone”| Music News, Reviews, and Gossip on Idolator.com

ProvacateurSince Ke$ha apparently wants toreturn to the glory days of the 1970sfor herAnimalandCannibalfollow-up, we’re assuming that this non-rock-and-roll-sounding demo,“31 Seconds Alone”, is very old instead of very new. Regardless of its time stamp, it’s a fairly sleepy track with none of the flamboyance or thrills we’re used to in K-dollar-sign-ha’s current wild girl shtick. Basically, there’s no mention of glitter, although she does promise to commit a few crimes in the name of love. Listen below.

Ke$ha - 31 Seconds Alone (Demo)

“We could be having the night of our lives / Pull the fire alarm, I would scream there’s a bomb in the building for 31 seconds alone,” an already Auto-Tuned K-Dolla sings on the track.

For a girl who’s already shared her delight indevouring human fleshandmurdering unicorns, this tune fails to impress us much. And why the random time frame of 31 seconds? Why not a full seven minutes in heaven?

What do you think of this discovered tune?
